Southampton Philharmonic Choir - Making Music Live in Southampton since 1860!

One of the longest-established and most respected choirs in Southern England, we are a large choir performing choral music from the classical and contemporary repertoire with professional orchestras and soloists. We sing with the Southampton University Philharmonic Choir, giving us a unique blend of youthful and experienced voices. The choir performs major concerts three times each year, generally at Southampton Guildhall or Winchester Cathedral. Additional performances include our popular concert of Christmas Music at Turner Sims (the Concert Hall at the University of Southampton). We also hold regular Choral Workshops for keen singers who are interested in developing their ability.

In summer 2015 we adopted The Honeypot Children's Charity as our new nominated charity (until summer 2017).  This charity aims to enhance the lives of children whose childhood has been lost due to domestic violence, poverty or neglect, or those children who are caring for a chronically sick or terminally ill parent or family member.  Honeypot gives these children a chance to be a child again, enabling them to forge friendships with children in their area who are in similar circumstances.  Thanks to the generosity of the audiences at our concerts in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 season, we have been able to raise over £2700 in aid of the charity, and this sum will cover the cost of providing five children with a year's support, which includes respite breaks at the Honeypot House and regular visits from the Honeypot Playbus.
